Nick Smith MP has praised the good work of all those involved in the premiere of a hard-hitting documentary on life during the miners’ strikes after its gala screening in Blaenau Gwent.

The MP was one of the audience for ‘Still The Enemy Within’ at the Market Hall Cinema in Brynmawr.

Owen Gower’s documentary about the striking miners of 1984 and 85 has already been hailed by critics as a heartfelt tribute to communities hammered by political forces, and Mr Smith said it was a momentous film that didn’t flinch from the truth of the times.
